Hi, I’m Jeroen 👋

Currently a Product Designer at Postman, Considered a design thinker, problem solver, professional wise-ass, nature lover, novice sim racer and death metal enthusiast. Based in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands.

Ever since I was little, I completely indulged myself in this book we had from M.C. Escher, endlessly fascinated by the upside-down stairs and ever-morphing black and white sketches. It resulted in a life-long passion for design; the only thing I ever wanted to be, was a designer. That dream has come true!

Starting in DTP, a subsidiary of graphic design, really helped me train my eye for detail. When I moved to a more marketing-oriented graphic design role, in parallel, the world grew to get more and more digital-focused. This paved the way for me, to combine visual design with technology, websites, and digital products. I’m grateful that I had become a passenger on this constantly evolving digital journey. The idea that you can create something and iterate on the way, is very rewarding. It allows for experimentation, which is a far cry from the static offline assets that used to be (and still are) quite common in design.

However, I felt that there was more than just the visual side of design. After starting to build websites, and cautiously editing HTML and CSS, I found myself in an abstract space of design. A place where I needed to design systematically, with a deeper focus on interaction and visualize how the product will be used. Those were my first baby steps in UX/UI.

Moving to a UX position (and eventually Product) in the tech industry, and getting to work with a wide range of disciplines and people from different nationalities, really broadened my view of the world. Whereat the beginning of my career I mostly acted on gut feeling, I now actively perform research, measure the impact of my designs, and act upon that. It made me realize that I enjoy working in a fast-paced, and high-pressure environment. It requires a curious and analytic mindset, an emphatic and solution-focused attitude, and an eye for aesthetic design and customer appeal, which is totally up my alley!

It’s my mission to create beautiful user-centered products, that impact users’ lives.
